The man wanted for a series of burglaries in the Shadow Hills area of the northeast San Fernando Valley was taken into custody Wednesday night after an intense manhunt. Neighbors called to say they heard gunshots. Another call was made by a neighbor who reported seeing a man with a backpack run through their backyard. Neighbors have been on edge for days… now many can rest knowing the suspect was finally caught.

The search continues for an armed man spotted in the Sunland area. Police identify the man as a person of interest in a recent series of burglaries across a Shadow Hills neighborhood. E arlier this month suspected double-murderer John Mangan absconded from the same prison.

T he inmates, Stephen Haugh from Mullingar who was behind bars for drug possession and Steven Coughlan from Cork who was serving a sentence for various offences including car theft, are understood to have only been moved to the Open Prison on Friday. On the night of Monday October 4th, double murder suspect John Mangan fled the prison after being caught with a burner phone linked to death threats against an innocent Dublin family.

It is suspected that Mangan is currently hiding out in north Dublin and is being aided by criminal accomplices.
